We’re heading into the last quarter of 2025, but one thing that’s been catching my attention is that Samsung Brazil has practically released almost no new notebooks here this year, and they’ve been quite quiet about it.
Basically the only one they brought here is the 15.6-inch Galaxy Book4 Edge with Snapdragon X Plus (NP750XQA), but it was launched globally in October 2024, so here it arrived late.
And nothing else.
I’m not counting here yet another relaunch of the first Galaxy Book Go (NP340XLA), which is a 2021 model, that almost every year has been relaunched in Brazil, which besides bringing Windows 11 updated from factory (as in the other times), only brought the new shortcut for Microsoft Copilot in place of the “Right Ctrl” key, which curiously none of the Galaxy Book4 in Brazil had, unlike the Galaxy Book4 sold overseas.
As for the Galaxy Book Go, it’s worth remembering that in Europe there was the Galaxy Book2 Go as early as 2022, and in South Korea the Galaxy Book3 Go, by the end of 2023, and here in Brazil Samsung is still reheating the first generation, giving the impression that they have a lot of them sitting on shelves, and they keep chasing trends to see if they can shake them loose.
To make matters worse, all Galaxy Book4s have had poor pricing since Q2 2025, and Samsung Brazil has shown no signs of improving the situation, allowing competitors like Acer, Lenovo, and Asus to stand out in the entry- and mid-range segments, where the South Korean brand reigned until recently.
While abroad, it’s been almost a year since Samsung started with the next generation, the Galaxy Book5. In other words, even they are already getting old…
And here in Brazil, there’s no sign of any Galaxy Book5 appearing here.
In fact, drivers for Brazilian variants of the Galaxy Book5 Pro 14-inch (NP940XHA) and Galaxy Book5 360 (NP750XHA) are listed in the Samsung Update app, but beyond that, nothing.
It’s also important to mention that Samsung has not released all Galaxy Book4 models in Brazil yet, since the base model still has options with the newer (overseas not so new) Intel Core Series 1 (NP750XGK) - with drivers available to download since early 2024, in addition to the 15.6-inch Galaxy Book4 Edge with Snapdragon X (NP750XQB), which have not yet been released here.
This situation reminds me of our neighboring country, Argentina, where Samsung also tried bringing the Galaxy Book4 (and several variants have drivers and a support page), but time passed, and nothing happened, with them continuing to offer options from the previous generation, Galaxy Book3, which basically they no longer sell anywhere (here in Brazil, at most there’s still the Book3 360 and some basic Book3 left at a retailer).
In Chile, Samsung’s activity is also slow, but at least there it already sells the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360.
So, I see this whole situation as quite worrying, and I fear for Samsung’s future in this field, since there is nothing yet about the sixth generation, not even Bluetooth SIG registration.
