How to port my number to Vivo.
How to Port Your Number to Vivo via SMS
- Get a Vivo SIM card and insert it into your phone;
- Send an SMS with the area code + number you want to port to 7678;
- Write down the confirmation code received on your old number;
- Reply to the SMS with the confirmation code;
- Your registration details will appear. Check them and reply to the SMS with the word „YES“;
- The Vivo portability request will be confirmed and within up to 2 hours the SIM card will be activated.
Until the portability is completed, you will use a temporary number to use the services. The change happens automatically.

Note: I also recommend using official channels like Twitter — you can request the portability there as well, just DM them.
SMS is not working.
That’s what I recommend most. At the end of last year, I ported my number to Vivo and the SMS method, as Michael said above, didn’t work. Through Twitter DM, the process was done very quickly.
Only at the store itself, no one answers me on Twitter and via SMS it doesn’t work anymore. Not on the site either.
I think because of the pandemic the flow of attendants has decreased on social media.
Did you try calling *8486 or *1058?
Really, if nothing works, the best solution is to go to the Vivo store.
1058 does not have an asterisk and can be called from any phone, unlike *8486 which can only be called from a Vivo phone.
Write down the protocol number, and if they cause any issues for portability, file a complaint with Anatel.
I recently did it through the website, but I don’t recommend it. They processed my number portability, everything was fine, but instead of registering with my CPF, they used my RG, so I couldn’t do anything (except add credit, hahahah). I had to go to the store, and they fixed the problem in a minute. I signed up for Easy right when I left.
I bought the chip through the website, and it took 2 months to arrive — ridiculous.
I’m thinking about switching to Vivo too, but I currently have the Tim Black FamĂlia plan. I want to port all my lines, but not all of them are under my name, so I’m worried something might go wrong. Has anyone done something similar? I’d like to switch to the Vivo PĂłs FamĂlia Especial 110GB plan for two lines.
Another thing, since there’s a contract term, I’m not sure how it can be done. Since the signal is really bad where I live, can I get an exemption from the early termination fee due to poor service quality?
Nice to know there are other options.
Normally I’d go to the store, buy a SIM card, and request portability.
I still think that’s the way with the least chance of errors.
But it’s good to know you can do it online.
First, you have to cancel your current contract with Tim. You can try to leave without paying the fine by filing a complaint with Anatel about the signal issue.
Then, you can port your number to Vivo, but I’m not sure how this situation works since the lines aren’t in your name. I thought that with Tim, just like with Vivo, all lines in a family plan would be under your name.
It doesn’t work via SMS. You do it through the Vivo online store, you’ll buy a chip that will have your number ported and you’ll have to wait for it to arrive at your home.
- You’ll have to take all your dependents to a store and bring all the numbers and sign the plan.
- When you cancel the plan, TIM will charge you a proportional early termination fee due to the loyalty period. You can file a complaint (via Anatel, consumidor.gov.br, or both) citing inadequate service provision. You can also try to cancel the plan directly through these platforms after collecting support protocols to attempt canceling without the fee, but it may take a bit longer.
