How to change your Nubank card PIN?

Hey everyone, does anyone know if it’s possible and how I can change my NuBank card password?

A while ago I asked in chat and they told me the only way was to request a new card, because the PIN was tied to the plastic card :man_shrugging:. Well, that doesn’t make sense, right? I have other banks where it’s possible to change it, so that little story didn’t really hold up. But unfortunately I still think they haven’t changed anything about it.

As far as I know, Nubank doesn’t let you change your card password, not even when you request a new card…

It makes total sense. A debit/credit card is nothing more than a smart card. You can’t remotely change the card’s password; that can only be done with the help of a card reader. Since Nubank doesn’t have its own ATMs, they don’t offer that option.

Dude, I’m not sure if there are cards with different technologies out there, but I’ve already changed the PIN for my Inter card through the app, without having to go to an ATM.

What do you mean? You set the password in the app itself — I’ve changed my card about 3 times and never changed the password, same goes for other banks. The password they must have mentioned is the 3 digits on the back, that one doesn’t work either.

It allows both, in the case of the card in case of loss, theft, and the 3 numbers being compromised… I really forgot the name of the numbers

I managed to change it when they activated the credit function on the card, and also when I lost it at home
According to the Nubank FAQ:

„At this time, it is not yet possible to change the 4-digit password for your Nubank credit card. We know this is an important feature, and as soon as we have updates, we will let everyone know.“

The solution is to recover the password through the app (if you’ve forgotten it) or request a new one through support.

The “standard” is not to allow remote exchanges — only by going to an ATM (for banks that have one) or requesting a new card. But there are banks that do allow it (like Inter).

Apparently you can change it remotely, but it seems the password change only takes effect when the card is inserted into a card machine/ATM.

It could be that Nubank doesn’t have access to this technology.
