Is it possible to pick up a package at Correios before the delivery attempt?

I’m in a crappy situation…

My package is at the distribution center, since a force majeure (probably a hurricane) prevented this competent company from making my delivery. The thing is, it’s an urgent parcel, and nobody answers the phone at that dump, and the online support barely understands what I’m talking about and just said it doesn’t count as a delivery attempt (???).

So my question is, can I go to the branch, give them a piece of my mind, and ask to pick it up?

I once went to pick up a package at the delivery center (CDD) because the house number was missing from the label…

So yes, it is possible to pick up at the CDD. Just check the opening hours — for example, at the CDD near my house I can only pick up the package in the afternoon.

And a tip for others: when the tracking says

But did they notify you, or did you just go on a wing and a prayer? hahahha

The website says until 5 PM, but you know how government-run places are… Especially on a day after a holiday haha

So, they just said the product would be returned to sender because the address was incomplete. When I looked into it, I found out that the CDD holds the package for a week before sending it back, so I went straight there to pick it up.

Here in my city, I’ve also picked up packages at the delivery center, but it’s good to remember that often the delivery center is in one location and the post office in another. Nowadays they no longer provide service at the delivery center here, ever since it moved to a new location.

Yes, you can pick it up, but you need to check if the CDD and the agency are at the same location or at different locations. Where I live, they’re different, and with one failed delivery attempt, I went to the CDD and picked it up. However, you have to go a little before closing time, because if you arrive right when they’re about to close, they won’t hand it over.

The times I tried, it was fine.
