My iPhone 11 was purchased in October 2020, and about 3 weeks ago a gray spot started appearing on the rear (main) camera… It’s a subtle spot, but my OCD won’t let it go (besides, I paid a lot to just look the other way).
I went into the phone’s settings, accessed warranty, and it redirected me to install an app called „Support“ from Apple… I opened it, selected „The camera is not working as expected,“ and it showed store options in my city (Campinas)… I chose the closest one to home, an iPlace at the mall, for Friday…
I used the warranty only once. As far as I know, you have to schedule a date and time to go to the nearest authorized service center, which seems to be what you did. When you get there, they’ll assess the problem and then they should send the phone for repair if they don’t consider it
That’s right! You schedule an appointment and they’ll tell you there whether it’s a repair or a replacement (yours is probably repairable). Otherwise, you wait about 5–7 days to pick up a new iPhone
That’s it. Usually, you schedule an appointment at the Apple Store or the nearest authorized service provider, and they will analyze the issue to determine if it’s eligible for replacement or not. You can also call the authorized service provider directly to see if they accept walk-ins, so you can just stop by whenever you’re available (some do, some don’t).
It could be some dust on the lens, or if it was exposed to an environment that produced vapor, it may have formed this small condensation spot. If they have the camera module in stock, it’ll likely be back with you in no time.
