OneDrive security system

On my computer, I’ve had countless problems with finding folders I haven’t used in a while empty. I don’t know what causes this, but I’ve never been able to detect any viruses. On OneDrive, if I have synced folders and they are attacked in this way, then when automatic sync happens, the files will also be deleted from the cloud. So, I don’t consider OneDrive any safer than anything else. The best solution would be for me to always work connected to the cloud without syncing anything. Is that possible? If it’s possible, does that mean I’ll have access to any file and open it in the right program, and when I save, it saves to the cloud? IS THAT ACTUALLY POSSIBLE? I have files, like from 3ds Max, that depend on other folders—can I count on this type of service, having everything in the cloud as if I were accessing a real drive? Can I watch my videos directly like I do in the MEGA cloud? If these and other things existed, I’d say that we’d have created the most secure data system ever made, because (I think) a virus on my computer could never reach the cloud, or could it?
