A question about the title that I didn’t find clearly explained anywhere. For example, if I register my CPF as a key in Neon, can I register the same key in Nubank?
And, if I receive a Pix from someone using this key, which bank would the amount go to?
The keys are registered for a single account.
If your CPF is registered on your Nubank account, you won’t be able to register the same number for a Neon account at the same time.
You can transfer the CPF from one to the other, but you can’t have it on both at the same time.
Centauro is absolutely right. It’s important to add that each individual’s transactional account can have up to 5 registered keys. The key types are CPF, email, phone number, and a random alphanumeric key.
As I mentioned in another thread here on the subject, my strategy will be to keep my personal info (CPF, primary email, and phone number) registered in my main account but use a custom email for Pix in each of the accounts I have, so I can pass it on easily and securely.
Another important point is that there is a key request method. So if someone registered your email in another account, you can request it, and the person will have a few days to prove ownership of the key, or it goes to the original owner who is requesting that key. My suggestion is to register and open up your personal data in your main account as soon as possible; then you decide whether to transfer them or not.
Except for CPF, email and phone keys go through a validation process, meaning you have to confirm you have access to them, so there’s no way someone else could register your email.
I don’t see any reason to go through the trouble of porting keys, just wait and register them on the accounts you’re sure you’ll use.
There’s always a way, people can get access to WhatsApp by asking for the validation code that comes via SMS, so this can exist. Maybe not at our level of “Tech enthusiasts,” but at the level of “My uncle on WhatsApp,” it will definitely happen.

In that case, the best thing to do is to unlink that key and link the new one. If you don’t unlink it, the next owner of the number will be able to request that key, and then you’ll have a few days to prove you still have access to that number. If you don’t prove it, the bank gives the key to whoever proves it.
Yes, if you change your phone number, you have to delete the key and create a new one, that way you avoid future headaches.
