Submission not evaluated by Anatel, with a request for regularization within 60 days

I have a package stuck at customs since it arrived in Brazil. I bought it through AliExpress/Remessa Conforme, so all taxes were already paid at the time of purchase.

But the package was forwarded for Anatel’s assessment, and they were way too busy chasing Dona Maria’s TV box. Then 60 days passed and the deadline for Anatel’s evaluation was closed because they hadn’t evaluated.

So today I received a message from the Federal Revenue Service asking me to provide supplementary documentation to regularize the product ACCORDING TO ANATEL’S EVALUATION, which, as a reminder, DID NOT EVALUATE. I don’t know what irregularity they’d be pointing to if Anatel hadn’t even shown up to indicate anything.

They cited some email from Correios that would have been sent today, but I didn’t receive it. Look at the images below, pay attention to the dates to better piece together the chronology.

Has anyone gone through this and knows how to regularize? In short, they didn’t evaluate, and the Federal Revenue Service will still seize the product instead of returning it, and Santa Claus will arrive earlier for someone this year. For me, all that remains is paying for the product and the taxes on something I will never receive, and that I probably won’t be able to challenge, because they’ll claim I missed the deadline.

Hey Anatel, this could have been avoided if you had done your job!

Wouldn’t it be possible to send a document to the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service (RFB) stating that ANATEL did not perform the evaluation and that the product remains in its possession? I think that’s what needs to be done now…

But where should I send it? Which email inbox? They didn’t provide that information anywhere… I suppose it would be in the email that the RFB mentions, and the Correios didn’t send me one.

Try the Correios ‘Contact Us’ page; if you’re lucky you might get the details of your case…

Another damn screw-up from that agency. No instructions given, and now the deadline, which was 60 days by the RFB, has been shortened to 10 calendar days by Anatel, which says it audited and didn’t audit a damn thing.

Don’t defend Anatel, you’ll catch a beating!

End of the saga: AliExpress offered a full refund of the order, without any prior request on my part, nothing at all — I just opened the app today and came across them offering it on the grounds of “problems with customs” (a text similar to this).

While AliExpress has already moved ahead, the product remains there, stuck. From what I understand, they wanted me to fill out a form that does not apply to this type of product, to be sent via SEI. Too much bureaucracy for me to take a no in my face for sending a product form that isn’t appropriate.

If I had still left the product plugged in and taken down Claro’s network across the entire city, but unfortunately I didn’t even have physical access to do that.

Let this be the lesson. I’ve never had problems with AliExpress and I didn’t even expect the solution would come from their initiative. Anatel being Anatoa and a garbage agency. I honestly wasn’t even considering taking action against AliExpress, I was considering it lost, because I doubt they’ll ship it back. Dona Chiquinha is going to get a Mi Box this Christmas.
